The Getty on the Hill

We finally went up the hill and saw the grounds of the J.Paul Getty museum.  Check out the view.  Fun with our wonderful cousins the Walsh family, in from North Carolina.

Hanukah Faire - Mitzvah Munchies

Molly worked on her Mitzvah project for her own Bat Mitzvah (coming up in December 2009!)
We made Mitzvah Munchies for dogs and Mitzvah Toys and Treats for cats.  All the proceeds will go to the ASPCA and The Burbank Animal Shelter.  We made $100!  Yeah Molly.  Yeah Animals.
Won't you buy my Mitzvah Munchies?

Proud Mom!

Marina's Bat Mitzvah - Oy

My sister Linda and I and worked hard to make some cool decorations for Marina's tables.  The theme...NEON!  It was sooo Marina.

Marina wow'd her "audience" at her Bat Mitzvah.  Dressed in a black dress over black skinny jeans and black hightops.  Only she could pull that off!

Zoo with Mr. Mitchell's Media Class - Who are the real animals?

I chaperoned the 7th grade Media Class trip to the LA Zoo.  It was a wild day!  Lots of animals, lots of 7th graders.  Wait, that is redundant.  Lots of fun!

First Day of School - 7th Grade / Luther Middle School

Wow - the first day of school, back in So. Cal.  Molly and friend Alana in their skinny jeans.  A quick picture before walking down the street to school.

No Molly, you can't take the rat to school...no matter how much you beg.

Max wants to go to school too!

Carolina Beach - Cousins Galore

Right before leaving North Carolina for Southern California, I took my nieces and cousin Tracy and Molly to the Carolina Beach.  Very beautiful and only one block from the beach house we rented.  It was so fun!

Molly the Beach Bunny.

Oh, they are soooo cute when they are sleeping!

Happy 12th Birthday Molly!

My time has flown.  It seems only yesterday Molly was 11 years old...well, perhaps only a few days ago.  On July 22nd Molly turned 12.  Today we had a bowling party with friends and family.  It was so very fun!  Attending were:  the Powell Girls - Carrie and Gwendie, Alex our Neighbor, Kendall a friend from Molly's school and the fabulous cousins -- Nancy, Tracy, Rhoda (AKA "Lady") and Lenny (AKA "Grand-dad").  Way too fun!

After some thrilling bowling, it was time to party, party, party.  We had pizza, cake and soda, and then Molly opened the great presents.

A Visit with East Coast Mickey!

Florida is so close to North Carolina, so we decided to be wild and crazy and have a weekend outing to Walt Disney World with our lovely cousin Tracy Walsh.

We went to Walt Disney World, Typhoon Lagoon (got rained out...but I got a rain check - gotta sell that on e-bay!), and Hollywood/Disney Studio Tour.

It was a fun-filled escape and
great to have time with Tracy.

SUMMER CAMP - Molly and Alana Go In Style!

Camp Kanata - Wake Forest, NC

Molly's friend Alana flew all alone to North Carolina to go to camp with Molly.

The girls met their counselors and fellow campers and explored their cabin.  A week of camping bliss!

But after two weeks, Alana had to go back home and we were all sad to see her go!

Spring Break - 2008 - in the land of Snow!

Molly and I decided that since we are on the "right" side of the country we would take advantage of that to go visit our dear friends the Campbells in New Hampshire.  There are three generations of silly Campbells there - Grandparents Fred and Deanna, Parents Chuck (who I adopted to be my younger, little brother) and Pam (his lovely wife), and amazing kids Ian, Rachel and Alicia.

Deanna met us at the airport with the perfect present for Molly - her own bottle of SNOW!

The roads were clear but there was still plenty of the white wet cold stuff for Molly to play in and climb on and throw and sled on once we got to Center Harbor.

And no snow stops a good BBQ!  Those New Hampshire folks are a sturdy breed!

We were treated to a special day of Scottish festivities - including lots of pipes and drums. Who knew men could look so handsome in a skirt...and be soooooooo loud!

We hated to leave to come home.  Thanks for a great time, oh Campbells!
